Founded on February 1, 1985, the Vila Real de Santo António Tennis Club was born from the will and friendship of a group of people who played tennis at the Hotel Vasco da Gama in Monte Gordo.

As the main aspects of our activity, we have always distinguished sports associated with social activities. We frequently organize several social tournaments, unofficial, that favor the interaction between the Club members, which end with a lunch or dinner party for the delivery of prizes.

Our tradition is also the conviviality tournaments with the Clubs of Ayamonte, Huelva, Faro and Lagos, among other clubs with whom we have had excellent relations for many years. Our athletes play at an individual level (in all categories), in various official tournaments and we all compete in the various regional team championships.

In 2007 we were regional champions in Under 10 teams, in 2016 we were regional champions Teams and regional individual champions for men and women.

In the men’s senior teams regional champions in 1997 and 2001, 2nd Division national champions in 2003 and 1st Division national champions in 2005 and 2006 and 2007, individual absolute champion in 2008, recently in the younger ranks to highlight the 2016 season where champions regional champions in men’s and women’s Under 12 classes, individual, pairs and mixed, also regional champion in veterans +35, among many other titles throughout our history.

We organize annually several social and official tournaments in different age groups in collaboration with the Portuguese Tennis Federation and V.R.S.A.
